In recent years, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has played an important role in the prevention and treatment of COVID‑19. The unique advantages of TCM in disease prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation have been widely recognized by people in many countries. In the new era and on the new journey, the development of the TCM industry has entered a new track. The state is vigorously promoting the modernization of TCM, bringing the millennia‑old culture of TCM to the world to serve more people.

During the meeting, District Mayor Song Baozhong and our Chairman Liu Naiyu actively discussed the topic of “Promoting the modernization of TCM and advancing TCM to the world”. Through technological innovation, empowering the TCM industry, creating more dosage forms beyond traditional decoction pieces and granules, promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and taking TCM international.

It is reported that Bozhou is a home of medicinal herbs with a planting history of more than 2,000 years, and is China’s largest production base of Chinese medicinal materials. Bozhou has 206 pharmaceutical manufacturers and is also the world’s largest trading center for Chinese medicinal materials. In recent years, Bozhou has actively promoted the construction of a full‑industry‑chain system covering planting of medicinal herbs, processing of decoction pieces, production of TCM granules, manufacturing of Chinese patent medicines, distribution of TCM, TCM research, and dissemination of TCM culture, striving to build the World Capital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
